Number 1 of 35 in full leather with original Stanbrook publications and leaves.
David Butcher spent a decade visiting Dame Hildelith Cumming at Stanbrook Abbey, meticulously recording her comments on the books printed at the Press, and sorting out with her spare leaves and ephemera we could include with the special copies of our bibliography. No wonder John Dreyfus, bibliographer of the Nonesuch and other presses, wrote that it was ‘a model of how such things should be done’.
This is one of the 35 copies bound in full ochre Oasis, with a portfolio of 12 complete booklets and prospectuses, and 21 sample leaves from the Press’ books, all in a leather-backed solander box.
We also have one copy of the regular edition available.
