harlequinadeLeon G Fine, a resident of Los Angeles, owns a complete collection of Whittington Press publications. He points out that, whereas libraries now make it impossible to browse through book collections, requiring credentialed readers to order individual items from their stacks, he has now opened his library to those who wish to BROWSE. This includes handling and inspection of the books so as to appreciate their qualities as objects of printing art.

In addition to Whittington Press book, the library includes examples of fine printing, private press books from Britain, Europe and the USA, typography and artists books. Presses include Kelmscott, Doves, Ashendene, Eragny, Bruce Rogers, Grabhorn, Janus and many others.

To access the collection, email contact is required, followed by a phone conversation with the owner, so as to allow him to evaluate the interests of the requestor of a visit to the private library.
